Milan (Italy), 5 November 2013 - Metzeler introduces SPORTEC™ M7 RR, the new supersport tyre developed from the experiences of the German brand in road racing activities. It has been designed to deliver high levels of handling and safety, ensuring optimal performance even in difficult situations that you may encounter on the road such as wet, bumpy and dirty tarmac.

SPORTEC™ M7 RR is the worthy successor of the SPORTEC™ M5 INTERACT™, with whom it shares a strong family feeling, while presenting completely new profiles, the use of revolutionary materials in the structure, new compounds and a brand new tread pattern derived from the experience in the road racing, giving it the RR designation .

The newest member of the Metzeler family capitalizes all the experience and the know-how acquired through the participation in the most prestigious road racing races such as the Tourist Trophy, the North West 200, the Southern 100 and the Metzeler Ulster Grand Prix in which Metzeler this year has clocked up 16 podiums with 10 wins. SPORTEC™ M7 RR provides with a new level of supersport performance adapting perfectly for road use and is designed for all riders who prefer a sporty riding style and use the motorcycle in varied situations, every day commutes as well as for short trips during the weekend, and that always require grip whatever the road conditions, the weather and the temperature.

Roads are rarely perfect, they often have hidden traps, can be bumpy and suddenly wet and slippery, in some cases even dirty, certainly far from the optimal conditions that can be found on a track. This is why Metzeler decided to develop the SPORTEC™ M7 RR based on the data acquired over the years in road racing that well reproduce ‘taking it to the extreme’, the situations which a rider may encounter every day on the road. The result is a tyre for road use, the SPORTEC™ M7 RR, with a sporting soul and able to offer top notch behaviour in situations of wet and slippery asphalt, thanks to the extraordinary grip that it is able to guarantee even at low operating temperatures.

SPORTEC™ M7 RR in addition to the important feature of grip on wet also features ease of handling and ensures a higher mileage than its predecessor SPORTEC™ M5 INTERACT™. The latest member of the SPORTEC™ family features a tread that while recalling the pattern of  its  predecessor  π  greek  SPORTEC™  M5  INTERACT™  it  is  a  clear  evolution  of  it:  it introduces a new concept of water drainage and controlled feeling, a non-conventional and patented layout and a geometry of the grooves which evacuate the water collected from the road more effectively, improving the behaviour of the tread and reducing tyre movement.
